We believe you should always know what data we collect from you and your Child, how we use it, and that you should have meaningful control over both.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Faithful Tutor Service and governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information from users, including Account Holders and Children who use the Service. In this Policy, “Service” means the Faithful Tutor web application and website, together with all content, tools, features, and functionality made available through them; “Child” means a user under the age of 18 whose parent or legal guardian (the “Account Holder”) creates a Faithful Tutor account for that Child; and “Teen” means a user between the ages of 13 and 17 for whom an Account Holder creates a Faithful Tutor account.
You should read this policy in full, but here are the highlights:
Protecting Children’s privacy is central to the Faithful Tutor Service. Faithful Tutor is committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506, and the FTC’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 312, as applicable.
This Children’s Privacy Policy is intended to describe Faithful Tutor’s practices for Children’s personal information in accordance with COPPA. COPPA protects the online privacy of Children under the age of 13. Faithful Tutor may also extend many of the same privacy protections to Teens, even where not legally required to do so.
Faithful Tutor does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals located outside the United States.
We collect information from Account Holders and from Children’s use of the Service, including: (1) information that Account Holders provide when creating or managing a Child account; and (2) information collected as a result of the Child’s use of the Service.
Faithful Tutor does not ask Children to provide last name, home address, phone number, Social Security number, government identification number, health or medical information, biometric identifiers, photographs, video, audio recordings, or precise geolocation data. Because Children may choose to include personal information in their messages to the AI tutor, Account Holders should supervise Children’s use of the Service and should instruct Children not to submit unnecessary personal information.
Accounts are created by the Account Holder on behalf of a Child.
When an Account Holder creates an account for a Child, the Account Holder provides: (a) the Account Holder’s name and email address; (b) a password (stored in hashed form — Faithful Tutor does not store passwords in plaintext); (c) the Child’s first name (no last name is collected); (d) the Child’s grade level and birth date (birth date used to determine applicable consent requirements; grade level used to assign the Child to an age-appropriate Service tier); and (e) billing information (processed directly by Stripe, Inc. — Faithful Tutor does not receive, store, or process raw payment card numbers).
If the Child is under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent before activating the Child’s account, as described in the “How Does Faithful Tutor Obtain Parental Consent?” section below.
Once a Child’s account is created and any required parental consent has been obtained, the Child may use the Service. In connection with use of the Service, Faithful Tutor collects:
With Account Holder authorization, Children may use the Faithful Tutor AI assistant to have text-based conversations through the Service. Faithful Tutor uses large language model services from one or more third-party providers (each, an "AI Provider"), engaged under commercial API terms, to generate AI responses to Children's messages. The AI Provider(s) currently in use are identified in the table below.
Faithful Tutor uses commercial API services from the AI Providers and does not authorize the AI Providers to use tutoring session content to train generalized AI models.
Faithful Tutor does not use tutoring session content to train, fine-tune, or develop generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Faithful Tutor may process Child data as necessary to provide the Service, generate responses, operate the Parent Dashboard, conduct safety screening, generate safety event records, maintain security, debug service errors, comply with law, and enforce the Terms of Service.
Account Holders can configure topic-level content settings for each Child. When a setting restricts a topic and a Child’s message touches it, the AI tutor redirects the Child to the Account Holder instead of responding directly, and Faithful Tutor creates a safety event record containing the Child’s message, the topic involved, and a short excerpt of the tutor’s redirect reply. Faithful Tutor emails the record to the Account Holder; other account roles do not receive it. When a setting does not restrict a topic, the AI tutor may respond to it directly.
The mental health setting works differently from the other content settings. When it is off and a Child mentions feeling sad, anxious, or grieving, the AI tutor answers warmly in a sentence or two and then continues with the lesson, so that exchange produces no redirect to the Account Holder, no safety event record, and no notification email. Crisis handling takes precedence over every content setting: a Child who indicates they are being hurt, are unsafe at home, or are thinking about hurting themselves receives crisis resources directly, and no separate record of that conversation is created, as described under Crisis Detection Data below.
Faithful Tutor maintains a crisis detection protocol that operates independently of all content controls. If the AI tutor detects that a student may be experiencing a crisis — including expressions of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or abuse — it provides the student with crisis resources including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, and Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline. This protocol cannot be disabled by any Account Holder setting or content control.

We do not collect precise geolocation data from Children. The primary form of location data we collect is derived from IP addresses, which are collected for security purposes. IP addresses are retained for security, fraud-prevention, service-operation, and legal-compliance purposes for a reasonable period consistent with Faithful Tutor’s retention practices, unless a longer retention period is required for safety, security, legal, or compliance reasons.
When creating a Child’s account or managing account settings, Account Holders provide:
In addition to information provided by Account Holders and collected through Children’s use of the Service, Faithful Tutor automatically collects certain technical information from devices used to access the Service:
Adults who subscribe to the Self-Learner tier create and manage their own accounts without adding Child profiles. For Self-Learner accounts, the Account Holder is both the subscriber and the learner. Tutoring session content, learning preferences, and progress data are collected from and about the Account Holder directly. The parental rights, COPPA provisions, and Child-specific sections of this Privacy Policy do not apply to Self-Learner accounts. Self-Learner Account Holders exercise their own data rights directly and may access, correct, export, or request deletion of their personal information by contacting us at support@faithfultutor.com.
Faithful Tutor offers an evaluation demo for adults who want to see how the Service works: a ready-made family with fictional students, available by invitation and, where we enable it, publicly. No family account or child account is created in a demo, and no information about any real child is collected. Before a demo starts, we ask the evaluator's date of birth to confirm they are an adult; we do not store the date of birth, only the result of the check.
During a demo we collect the demo link's identifier; the device and network information needed to run the demo and enforce its limits, including IP address and browser details; timestamps; and the content the evaluator enters, such as questions, answers, and writing, which is processed by our AI Provider to generate responses in the same way as the Service. We use this information only to operate the demo, enforce its time and interaction limits, respond to feedback, and keep the demo secure. Demo information is not used for advertising and is not disclosed to anyone other than the service providers listed in the vendor table above.
Demo information is deleted 30 days after the demo ends. If we learn that a child has used a demo session, we end that session and delete the information collected during it promptly. Demo sessions are not covered by the parental controls, notifications, or account features described elsewhere in this Policy; the AI safety and crisis-response behaviors operate in a demo exactly as they do in the Service.
Faithful Tutor does not sell or rent Children’s personal information. Faithful Tutor does not use Children’s personal information for third-party advertising and does not use Children’s personal information for behavioral advertising. Faithful Tutor’s monetization model is subscription-based.
We use Children’s personal information for the following purposes:
Tutoring session content may be transmitted to the AI Providers for AI response generation and is subject to each AI Provider’s data processing terms as described in the “AI Conversation Feature” and “Does Faithful Tutor Disclose Children’s Information?” sections of this Policy. Faithful Tutor does not authorize any AI Provider to use Children’s personal information to train generalized AI models.
We disclose personal information about Children to service providers as described below, where reasonably necessary to provide, secure, operate, support, maintain, evaluate, and debug the Service, comply with law, enforce the Terms of Service, and protect Child safety.

Faithful Tutor does not authorize service providers to use Children’s personal information for their own advertising purposes or to train generalized AI models for their own purposes.
Faithful Tutor does not sell Children’s personal information. We do not disclose Children’s personal information for behavioral advertising. We do not share Children’s personal information with data brokers or advertisers. We disclose Children’s personal information to service providers only as described in this Policy and only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, operate, support, maintain, evaluate, and debug the Service.
No Child’s account, profile, or conversation history is made available or visible to the general public through the Service.
Conversation history and issue reports may be accessible to: (1) the Account Holder; and (2) Faithful Tutor personnel, contractors, and service providers to the extent reasonably necessary for service operations, safety monitoring, security, legal compliance, and enforcement of the Terms of Service.
There is no peer-to-peer communication, social features, forums, or user-generated content visible to the general public or to other users. All other interactions are between the Child and the Faithful Tutor AI assistant and are not visible to other users or the general public.
Faithful Tutor retains Children’s personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy.
When an Account Holder deletes a Child profile or closes the account, Faithful Tutor will delete personal information associated with the account within 30 days, subject to legal, safety, security, backup, billing, dispute-resolution, and compliance exceptions. Account Holder may request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us at support@faithfultutor.com.
When a subscription is cancelled but the account is not deleted, Faithful Tutor deletes any remaining personal information within 90 days after cancellation, subject to the same legal, safety, security, backup, billing, dispute-resolution, and compliance exceptions.
Faithful Tutor may retain de-identified or aggregated data that does not identify, and cannot reasonably be used to identify, any individual for security, compliance, analytics, service-operation, evaluation, and debugging purposes. Faithful Tutor will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data.
At any time, the Account Holder may:
Please keep in mind that a request to delete information or to terminate the Child’s account will result in the Child’s inability to access the Service.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@faithfultutor.com from the email address used to create your account. We will verify your identity before processing the request and will process all verifiable requests within 30 days.
Faithful Tutor obtains verifiable parental consent from a Child's parent or legal guardian before collecting personal information from a Child or activating a Child's account. The notice describing what information Faithful Tutor collects, how it is used, and how to provide or revoke consent is available at faithfultutor.com/coppa-notice.
If a Child’s account is created but verifiable parental consent is not completed, Faithful Tutor deletes the Child’s profile and associated personal information within 30 days.
Faithful Tutor also requires that Teen accounts be created by the Account Holder, even where verifiable parental consent is not legally required.
Faithful Tutor uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Children’s personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the information. Faithful Tutor limits personnel access to Child conversation data to personnel with a business, safety, security, legal, or service-operation need for such access. No method of transmission, storage, or processing is completely secure, and Faithful Tutor cannot guarantee the absolute security of any personal information. If you believe that your Child’s personal information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@faithfultutor.com.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide prominent notice by posting a notice on the Service and notifying Account Holders at the email address associated with their account. Where required by applicable law, we will also obtain updated parental consent before implementing material changes to how we collect, use, or disclose Children’s personal information. Non-material changes will be effective upon posting. The date this policy was last revised is identified at the top of this page.
